I first heard of Christian Science through the healing of...
I first heard of Christian Science through the healing of a sister. At first I was opposed to what I believed it to be, but accepted it because of my need for something to make me happier.
Because I always lived far from church and practitioners, I learned to rely on my own study of the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and any of Mrs. Eddy's writings that were available. "The scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468) has been "a strong tower" to me in realizing the truth. I have seen some beautiful healings result from its application: when a daughter put her hand in boiling honey and wax, she was instantly relieved of pain; a son was immediately restored to consciousness after he had fallen from a swing and struck his head; another daughter was instantly healed of appendicitis through realizing the truth of this passage.
Painless childbirth was demonstrated by my holding to the truths taught in Christian Science. I was up the third or fourth day after the birth, and was strong, although no treatments were given.
