It was through my sister, who had experienced a wonderful healing of a serious physical condition, that I became interested in Christian Science. When she found I had made arrangements to undergo a surgical operation to correct a hernia, she asked me to try Christian Science. She sent me a copy of The Christian Science Journal containing a list of practitioners. I selected the name of the one living closest to my home and went to see her. She talked to me of a God of love, and told me that the Bible says that God's Word is "sharper than any twoedged sword," so it would surely be sharper than a surgeon's knife. My thought was so uplifted as the result of this visit that the next day I was able to lay aside the truss which I had worn for over five years. That was over twenty years ago, and I have never had need of it since.

One member of our family was healed of an infected leg, so swollen and discolored that the condition appeared alarming. This condition, however, was arrested and entirely overcome in less than a week.

Two outstanding healings which my son experienced were the overcoming of muscular inactivity which affected one side of his face, and at another time an entire lapsing of memory, both resulting from injuries which he had received while playing football. The unreality of these conditions was proved very quickly with the loving aid of a practitioner.
