Christian Science came into my life when material pleasures could no longer satisfy and I longed for something higher and more solid upon which to base my life than anything I then knew. I was attracted to Christian Science through the transformation of a sister, who had been healed by this Science when all material aids had failed.

Although very critical when attending the Christian Science church for the first time, I was, nevertheless, greatly impressed by the intelligence and healthiness expressed by its members; so much so, that I began to attend regularly and preferred going to church, rather than elsewhere. This caused quite a bit of ridiculing from my associates, for I had always been opposed to religion. Through the light of Christian Science I was amazed to find the Bible a wonderful book, full of meaning, and the works of Jesus simple and understandable.

Then, through the patient, loving help of a consecrated Christian Science practitioner, I was healed of the smoking habit and the desire for alcoholic drinks, as well as false traits of character. Talents that seemed to have been lost were brought to light.
