Thousands are living today because Christian Science has healed them of some malady said to be incurable. Although, as a result of the influence of Christian Science, longevity has been increased, yet Christian Scientists do not claim that the phase of human experience known as death has yet been eliminated. Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, has written in her book "Unity of Good" (p. 43), "This generation seems too material for any strong demonstration over death, and hence cannot bring out the infinite reality of Life,—namely, that there is no death, but only Life." She adds, "The achievement of this ultimatum of Science, complete triumph over death, requires time and immense spiritual growth."

The right of an individual to select his own physician is a right of conscience. Christian Science teaches the doctrine of Christian healing as taught and practiced by Christ Jesus. The rights of a minority who believe in and practice Christian Science healing should not only be preserved, but should also have the respect of a tolerant majority. One of the great fundamentals of our American government is the right to worship God according to the dictates of one's conscience.
