I wish to express my gratitude for the eagerness to share...

I wish to express my gratitude for the eagerness to share that so typifies Christian Scientists. It is reasonable to expect that this eagerness should pervade the entire movement, for Christian Scientists have always before them the example of Mary Baker Eddy and her gift to the world. Lecturers, Readers, and practitioners, those who write for the periodicals, and those who testify at the Wednesday evening meetings, all are following this example, all are eagerly sharing what they have of the priceless treasure, the truth about God and man.

Through such generosity I have found not only inspiration and comfort but definite help for specific problems. Until recently, my work involved the handling of large transport airplanes. Being designed to fly, these machines are a little difficult to maneuver on the ground under some circumstances. One very windy day, while taxiing over a stretch of glare ice I found myself in a grave predicament. Asking God for help, I was immediately aware of a truth shared by a lecturer, who had said, "There is always a right thing to do, and you may declare always that you can know what it is." With the words came the knowledge I needed, and the incident ended quickly and harmoniously.

Mrs. Eddy writes on page 79 of Science and Health, "Mind-science teaches that mortals need 'not be weary in well doing,'" and she adds, "Giving does not impoverish us in the service of our Maker, neither does withholding enrich us." A recent experience crystallized this thought for me. Realizing that whatever knowledge I possessed was not my knowledge, but a part of divine intelligence, I sought a way to pass it along. The way was revealed, and with it, quite unasked, appeared new opportunities, new employment, and advancement in a totally unexpected direction.
