It is with grateful appreciation that I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and its Discoverer and Founder, Mary Baker Eddy. While I am very grateful for the many healings and blessings which have come through the study and practice of Christian Science, I am much more grateful to Mrs. Eddy because she could and did give this wonderful truth to us in a way we could understand. Only through the application of this understanding do we have the blessings and healings for which we are so grateful.

One experience that stands out clearly to me was the recovery of a lost article. It was imperative that it be in its place in just a few hours from the time I missed it. The "still small voice" of Truth spoke to me very distinctly, telling me to go to the home of a neighbor, and that this article would be lying on the davenport just inside the door. Instead of being obedient I made a frantic search for the next hour or more, at the same time endeavoring to know that nothing can be lost in divine Mind. Finally I did go to the neighbor's home, and this article was the first thing I saw when the door was opened, lying on the davenport just as I had pictured it. How much needless distress I should have saved myself had I been obedient in the first place! In all the years I have studied Christian Science I have never felt quite so humble and grateful as I did that night. Not only had I recovered this article, but I realized that the voice of Truth does guide us, even though we may delay demonstration by not heeding that guidance. It is always there for us if we will accept it.

A healing for which I am very grateful is that of warts. They were all over my hands, but because they did not bother me I seldom thought about them. One evening when I was visiting in another town, the conversation was about warts and the many methods used to get rid of them. These methods all seemed very foolish to me, when I knew there was only one way to heal them. It was many years before I thought of warts again, and when I did, I realized those on my hands had all vanished while I was on that visit. This healing occurred eighteen years ago and has been permanent. I was also healed of catarrh and severe headaches through reading the Bible and our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, although I had no treatment for either trouble.
