Our Leader's wise provision whereby we are given opportunities to express our thanks for all that Christian Science has done for us is one for which I am very grateful. I should like to express my deep thankfulness for what Christian Science has done for me.

In 1922, when my need for help and comfort was very great, a friend recommended that I read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. As I read, I realized that the truth was being presented to me in its pages. I felt that in Mrs. Eddy's book, human life and its problems were approached in a way which was entirely different from any of which I had previously heard.

I have had many healings, too numerous to recount, not only of physical troubles, but of other difficulties of all kinds. Some years ago, when I was in India, I had a beautiful healing, which proved to me very clearly the truth of our Leader's words (Science and Health, p. 14): "Become conscious for a single moment that Life and intelligence are purely spiritual,—neither in nor of matter,—and the body will then utter no complaints. If suffering from a belief in sickness, you will find yourself suddenly well." I was traveling by car with friends, and became aware of symptoms which, before I knew of Science, had been the prelude to a long and dangerous illness. I did not deal with this error immediately, as I ought to have done, and the symptoms became worse. I tried to endure as well as I could, because we had a long way to go and it was getting late.
