On page 412 of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes: "The power of Christian Science and divine Love is omnipotent. It is indeed adequate to unclasp the hold and to destroy disease, sin, and death." This comforting statement was clearly demonstrated to me in a beautiful healing I experienced some time ago, and it is a real joy to give this testimony. I sincerely desire that it may prove helpful to all who read it.

In January, 1940, during the severe cold weather, I was taken ill, the difficulty seeming to settle over the entire body. It was during one of those very dark hours that the loving, consecrated practitioner to whom I had appealed for help earlier in the week, came to see me. Many affirmations of Truth and denials of error were voiced to me by the practitioner, some of which I do not remember ever having heard before, but they will never be forgotten. I realize now that the healing took place during that brief but valuable visit. No period of convalescence followed, and although I continued to have treatment for several days, I retired that night happier and healthier than I had been for some time.

My love for this healing truth, and my devotion to The Mother Church and its many activities, are ever increasing. My heartfelt gratitude to all the faithful and sincere practitioners who so quickly help us to realize our unity with God, impels me to join Mrs. Eddy in echoing her beautiful statement on page 227 of Science and Health: "Citizens of the world, accept the 'glorious liberty of the children of God,' and be free! This is your divine right."
