Signs of the Times

Topic: Right Education

[From the Christian Standard, Cincinnati, Ohio]

Youth is the time for establishing foundations. The things which are embedded in the mind in these years nearly always assume the direction of the life in later years. It is doubly wise, therefore, that the creator of man be well remembered in these habit-forming years. If the grain is to develop and make a bountiful harvest, it must establish a good root system in its early life. It is so with the human soul. In the youth of the individual there must be a development or rooting into the things that are of God, else character cannot develop into godliness and an abundant life in later years. Let God be taught, be made very real, and the child become very responsive to the calling of God, in his youth.
