Post
When men begin to find out that their own wisdom and competency are not infallible; when the house of cards which they may have laboriously erected falls at their feet; when they stand apparently impotent at the crossroads of decision in some seeming crisis, then instinctively they reach out for help to the great spiritual leaders of the ages who have demonstrated that they "drank of unseen wells and tasted of bread not of this world."
Then the earnest inquirer learns that the saints and prophets, rising somewhat above the plane of mortal consciousness, whereon the testimony of the physical senses has dominant influence, perceived that the substance of all true being is Spirit, God.
Jesus reflected God's qualities in Godlike wisdom, love, strength. And men, when in dire straits, reach out to the teachings of Christianity to learn how they can realize the presence of God, how they in their own lives and relationships can reflect God, by expressing, in some measure, His qualities and attributes.
