I should like to express my gratitude for the protecting power of Christian Science, and for the healing of a severe sprain. One morning, when I was picking fruit and was more than halfway up a rather tall stepladder, it swerved to one side and fell from under me, causing me to fall to the ground. I got up quickly, but felt no sense of pain or hurt whatsoever, and did not even feel shaken. However, to my great consternation, there appeared a large lump on the back of my right hand; the wrist bone was pushed out to one side, and I could not lift my fingers. My first thought was one of thankfulness that no one had witnessed the accident. I went indoors, and after declaring the truth called a practitioner, who very lovingly took up work for me immediately.

What troubled me most was the thought that I should be incapacitated, but I put this fear from me, knowing that, as God's child, I had dominion over all discordant conditions.

I am grateful to say that with the loving help of the practitioner I was able to do practically all that I needed to do for myself, although I could hardly use my right hand. My wrist and hand were much swollen for some time, and the under part of my arm was black from the wrist to the elbow with a bruise, but there was no pain during the whole time. Eventually the inharmonious manifestations disappeared. I did not bind up my wrist or put it in a sling, but placed radical reliance upon Truth for this healing.
