Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

This year, for the first time, we had the pleasure of seeing reports of the Annual Meeting in Boston published in the Swedish press. Eight newspapers, among which was one of the newspapers of the capital, as well as newspapers of the eastern and western parts of Sweden, and also the newspaper which has the largest circulation in southern Sweden, printed detailed reports of this important event. The reports were well placed under very good headings, as, for instance, "The Christian Science Movement Advances in the World, "Spiritual Healing on March," "The Interest in Christian Science is Increasing." This progressive step, which is acknowledged with deep gratitude, will surely prepare the soil for the extension of Christian Science in the Swedish field.

During the past year the Swedish press has also in other respects shown a particularly kind attitude towards our work. On many occasions The Christian Science Monitor has been cited by papers which have availed themselves of the privilege of subscribing for this paper in exchange for advertising.

Three lectures on Christian Science were delivered in this field during the last official year, two of which were in Stockholm and one in Gothenburg. The lectures were also read in Swedish translation. Many newspapers published reports thereof. The last lecture, in Stockholm, was extensively reported in no less than twenty-five daily newspapers. A complete translation of the lecture was printed in a Stockholm newspaper with an edition of about one hundred and twenty-five thousand copies.
