Correcting Our Mistakes

[Written Especially for Young People]

Often the turning point in the solving of a problem comes when we realize that we have made a mistake.

A mistake which many have made, and one of the greatest that can be made, is to believe that man is separate from God, divine Principle, and that he is moving in an orbit of his own. From this belief come much of the suffering and inharmony which seems to throng mortal existence.

It may not always be clear to the young student of Christian Science that through this teaching he is entering upon a new path, where old beliefs fall away as dry leaves fall from a tree in the autumn, and he faces the task of bearing witness to Truth in every detail of his experience. One who starts out to master the science of numbers must begin with fundamental truth, and does not at first tackle complicated arithmetical problems. The beginner in Christian Science begins with fundamental spiritual truth, and soon perceives that the faithful study of this new-old religion will eventually correct all that is wrong in his human expereince and bring to light the real man, in God's likeness.
