The question of temperance with respect to drinking intoxicants is ever recurring. It is an old question, and it is as new as the morning sun. All sorts of efforts have been made to restrain persons from overindulgence. The prudence of self-control has been resounded in the ears of all of us....

Intemperance is the enemy of the home. The first thing that usually results from it is fewer of those material blessings which the average home needs. There is reason for this. One cannot spend his money in unprofitable ways and still have it for the necessities of life.
