Christian Science is the greatest blessing that has ever...
Christian Science is the greatest blessing that has ever come into my life. I did not come to it for healing, although I was in very poor health. I had been brought up as a small child in a strict religious home, but after I lost this home my religion did not give me the comfort for which I was looking. I was going through a great mental struggle when I heard of Christian Science. After seeing a friend who had been helped by it, I decided to read Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. This was in 1901. While reading, I was healed of inflammatory rheumatism, indigestion, and blinding headaches. This proved to me that I had found the "pearl of great price."
One ailment caused me much suffering, and the doctors told me it was brought on from running the sewing machine. I had been under medical treatment for nearly two years, and had not received any help. The doctors had given me only morphine tablets to relieve the pain, and from the use of these tablets my joints became stiff, so that I was worse instead of better. Then I decided to have Christian Science treatment, and in one week I was completely healed of this trouble. Words cannot describe the joy and peace of mind that came to me from this healing. This Science is indeed the Comforter promised by Jesus.
My experience in Christian Science has been a joyous one. I spent two weeks at The Christian Science Benevolent Association Sanatorium at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, which is a haven of rest. At another time, I spent four days there. For this I am most grateful.
