For many years I have been experiencing the healing benefits of Christian Science, and while I have testified at Wednesday evening meetings in gratitude for these healings, I have long felt it my duty to express gratitude through our periodicals, so that a greater number may know of the blessings which come through the study and application of this wonderful truth.

My first healing came to me more than fifteen years ago, when I was healed of severe stomach disorder, which had troubled me from early boyhood. Through the years that have followed this healing, I have experienced many proofs of the allness and ever-presence of God.

I should like to tell of a more recent healing, which stands out as one of the most important in my experience, and which came about as a result of absolute reliance on God's power to heal, and the firm denial of any reality in matter. For more than a year I had been troubled with an ugly growth on my face, which all the help of the practitioner and my own application of the truth did not eliminate. In my work as advertising salesman I am brought face to face with business men of all types and beliefs, and it took all the understanding at my command constantly to deny the suggestions of material help offered by these friends, who thought they were doing me a kindness. During this experience I was serving as First Reader in a branch church, and while the suggestion came many times to give up this work, I was determined to do what the Father led me to do. My family, although not interested in Science, were kind enough not to make any comment, for which I was most grateful. Finally, the manifestation became so unsightly that I felt it wise to be temporarily relieved of my work as Reader. After two weeks of close study and the continual loving help of a practitioner, the growth was eliminated and I was completely healed—a most beautiful piece of mental surgery.
