I should like to express my gratitude for Christian Science and all the blessings which have come to me. About five years ago I was suffering with a serious heart and stomach trouble, and since I had no close relatives in New York I decided to travel to my parents in Germany. A friend had to accompany me, for I was not able to make the journey alone. When I was on the ocean a kind woman noticed me, for our deck chairs were near each other one morning. This woman was a Christian Scientist, and told me of God's love and also of healings which she had had. I was so impressed by everything that I asked her to tell me more and more.

The very next day my heart was so light and so full of joy that I went sightseeing on the ship with her and watched the masked ball in the evening. I had completely forgotten my body and my suffering, and threw the medicine into the water. It never occurred to me that I could use it again. I have found that one is never alone; that God is ever present, and that one can call upon Him for help everywhere. When I got home and my mother, who had known of my trouble for some time, asked me to go to the doctor at once, I did it for her sake, although I myself had no desire to do so. I had to inform the doctor of my illness, and an examination followed. I shall never forget the doctor's face as he said laughingly to me, "You are as healthy as a fish in water."

I am inexpressibly grateful to the woman who introduced me to this Science; and especially to Christ Jesus, and to our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who has revealed these wonderful truths to us.
