America's history virtually began with a sanctuary. The brave colonists on arrival immediately built a church. The Pilgrim Fathers, in charting villages and towns, located chapels at the intersection of the man thoroughfares.

No pages of history are more luminous than these which relate the thrilling story of pioneer men and women who, with undaunted courage, invincible faith, and a spirit that could not be broken by hardships, hard scrabbles, or heartaches, blazed a way through untraveled forests and pastures and triumphantly placed God's house in the midst of the venturesome immigrants and pioneer settlers of our country.
