Christian Science blesses mankind with the revelation that the record of creation in the first chapter of Genesis is true. There it is written that God made man in His image and likeness, and found His creation "very good." It is impossible for that which God created, and which is infinitely good, like Himself, ever to become unlike Him. God is Spirit, and His creation, man, is spiritual.

Upon this basis of the perfect God and His perfect creation rest the proof and demonstration of Christian Science. Every healing by Christian Science is accomplished through the spiritual understanding that the real man is perfect.

In one of her books (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 242), Mary Baker Eddy states unequivocally the basis of demonstration in these words. "Christian Science is absolute; it is neither behind the point of perfection nor advancing towards it; it is at this point and must be practised therefrom. Unless you fully perceive that you are the child of God, hence perfect, you have no Principle to demonstrate and no rule for its demonstration."
