"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." These opening words of the Preface to Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. vii) have brought courage and renewed hope to me many times.

The realization of the allness of God takes away doubt, fear, and a false sense of responsibility. One definition of the word "sustain" is "to endure without failing or yielding."

A realization of what "the sustaining infinite" really is came to me at a time when, due to an automobile accident, my left arm, knee, and foot were injured, and I was unable to walk for six weeks. During that time I did not mentally consent to the material evidence, and, although the accident seemed to be a very severe one, there were no serious effects.
