Morning Prayer
Father
, guard my wayward tongue,
Help me to speak gently,
Keep the portal of my lips,
Let me watch intently
Lest a note of fretfulness,
Weariness, resentment,
Claim to be my voice today,
Cloud this home's contentment.
And everywhere that I may go,
Father, help me see,
Despite all mortal evidence,
Thy children perfect, free.
