Opportunity Always Present

IN one of his later statements to his disciples, Jesus expressed himself in these words: "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science. in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," makes the following comment on the "Comforter" (p. 55): "This Comforter I understand to be Divine Science." On page 127 of the same book she writes: "Science is an emanation of divine Mind, and is alone able to interpret God aright. It has a spiritual, and not a material origin. It is a divine utterance, — the Comforter which leadeth into all truth."

The message which Christian Science brings to humanity is thus a message of comfort, of healing and redemption. Its efficacy has been abundantly proved for over half a century by thousands of authentic healings. The mission of Christian Science is to deliver humanity from belief in evil, manifest in the form of sin, sickness, discord, want, hate, poverty, death. Deliverance from the belief in evil is brought about in Christian Science by spiritual understanding, that is, as one acquires the spirit of Truth and Love, and understands the allness and omnipotence of God, good. The relinquishment of false belief goes hand in hand with the gain of spiritual understanding and its honest application.
