Observer and Times

In a recent issue you publish a letter commenting on your report of a lecture on Christian Science, to which I should like to ask for a little space in your columns to reply.

The writer quotes the lecturer as saying, "Christian Science declares that, because that teaching and practice of Jesus were in full accord with divine law, there must be a way, by following which, others can do what Jesus did;" and, as I understand his letter, he asks how that can be.

Divine Truth must be invariable and eternal, and divine law must be the law of eternal Truth. Therefore, in the proportion that one follows and understands the teachings of Jesus and grows in apprehension of the truth, one can use it as Jesus did. He said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father."
