I should like to express my deep gratitude for Christian Science, for all the blessings that have come to me through the study and application of Truth, and for what it is doing for all mankind.

In proof of the healing efficacy of Christian Science I should like to tell of my healing of kidney stones, a little more than two years ago. For a number of years prior to my coming into Christian Science, I had experienced periodic occurrences of severe attacks of pain, and it always required several days to gain even temporary relief through material remedies. Attending physicians had at various times advised me to undergo a surgical operation to remove the stones, but I was reluctant to submit to such a course. More than two years after I had taken up the study of Christian Science, this trouble again asserted itself. Through the patient and loving help of a Christian Science practitioner I was able to rise above the clouds of fear into a clearer realization of the presence and power of divine Love, and thus enjoy the fruits of demonstration.

During several months there were a number of severe attacks, but these lasted only a few hours, after metaphysical work was taken up by the practitioner, and I did not lose an hour from my work during this period. One day, after several hours of intense pain, my wife began to read our Leader's hymn, "Feed My Sheep" (Poems, p. 14), and I fell asleep. After sleeping soundly for more than an hour I awakened refreshed and with a feeling of exultation. I knew I was healed! I called to my wife and told her of my great joy and gratitude. She, too, had felt the presence of Truth in that hour of our greatest need. I dressed and went to work, and the following day there was a harmonious elimination of a discordant condition. Yes, an "operation" had been performed, but it was the action of spiritual law, operating through the understanding of the allness of God and His relation to man, as revealed through Christian Science.
