A correspondent in a recent issue mentions Christian Science in a letter appearing under the heading "Spiritualism." I should be grateful if you would kindly allow me to explain to your readers that there is no similarity whatever between spiritualism and Christian Science.

The teaching of Christian Science is based upon the Bible, and it cannot be coupled with any other teaching than that of the Holy Scriptures. Christian Scientists have been enabled to heal all manner of sickness, disease, and suffering through their understanding of the law of God in accordance with the teachings of the Bible and Christian Science. This healing work does not embrace any thoughttransference. trances, or mediumship; neither does anything of this nature appear in the order of services in the Christian Science churches and societies.

Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 80): "I entertain no doubt of the humanity and philanthropy of many Spiritualists, but I cannot coincide with their views. It is mysticism which gives spiritualism its force. Science dispels mystery and explains extraordinary phenomena."
