A report of a lecture on Christian Science can but give an outline of its teachings, but those who have studied the Bible, together with the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, and have applied the truths contained in these works, have proved Christian Science to be Science.
The real nature of God has been revealed, and from the standpoint of perfect God, as the creator of all that is real and eternal, matter is seen to be the very opposite of Spirit or substance. Only by scientific research to know God aright, has the nothingness of matter been revealed.
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual." This scientific statement of true being, understood, heals the sick.
