In a recent issue I read a letter that alludes to Christian Science in a manner which betrays a lack of knowledge of its teachings. May I state that the adherents of this religion love peace, good will, and tolerance as ardently as does any other body of Christians. Moreover, they spend their energies and lives in endeavoring to express these qualities. They accept, without reservation, the teachings of Christ Jesus, including the injunction, "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them." In the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, the following is the last of six Tenets, to which all Christian Scientists conform (p. 16): "And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure." If this is an "invasion," surely it cannot be considered an undesirable one.
