This testimony of healing is given with two thoughts in...
This testimony of healing is given with two thoughts in mind: gratitude for the many blessings which I have received since taking up the study of Christian Science, and the hope that my experience may benefit someone else.
I did not become interested in Christian Science for healing for myself, but to help a member of my family. After a period of time, in which my two children, aged two and six, had experienced many healings, the question came to me, If a real testing time came, would you rely on Christian Science or would you turn to materia medica for help? I hoped that I would rely on Christian Science, and with that I dismissed the argument. Several months previously one of my children had brought home a note from the school physician saying that he had adenoids, and needed to have an operation for their removal. I endeavored to help him and he seemed very much improved, but later he became ill with a throat trouble and the adenoid condition was aggravated. I kept him away from school that day, and towards evening called a practitioner for help. That night the child seemed to be very ill and I had a great sense of fear; but I realized that the truth had been declared by the practitioner and that it was for me to get rid of my fear and leave the child entirely in God's hands, which I tried to do. In the morning he was absolutely free from the sore throat, but since the condition of the adenoids seemed the same, I again called for help. In a short time his nose began to bleed and the adenoids came away. The city rules required that the school children be examined twice a year, and the child's next report showed that the condition had been corrected. This healing occurred more than twenty-two years ago, and has been permanent.
I have seen many other healings in our family: of measles, chicken pox, scarlet fever, pleurisy, and injuries resulting from an accident, in which the ligaments of a child's limb were torn, The child was able to walk again in one week's time. Christian Science has met our every need when rightly applied, and for the many benefits we have received I am indeed grateful.
