I have had such joyful experiences in the study of Christian Science...
I have had such joyful experiences in the study of Christian Science in a short space of time that I wish to pass them on, hoping that my testimony may prove to others that a condition which may seem hopeless to the human sense must crumble away to nothing when Truth is applied.
In 1934, I was treated for three months by a medical doctor, but showed no improvement. I then entered an Institute of Human Relations, a mental branch of a renowned American medical school. Two weeks' treatment there seemed to prove not only to me, but to the doctors and nurses, that they were as helpless as I, and I was then removed to a state hospital. Two more months seemed to be just time wasted, and I was then removed to another private medical institution, where harsh physical treatment and handling were employed. I can unquestionably state that on leaving each of these three institutions, I was in a worse mental state than when I entered them.
I shall always be grateful for the proof of God's care and for the day when I was visited by a loving practitioner, who directed my removal to a Christian Science sanatorium. For two months I was not the most pleasant kind of guest. The kindness which I received at the hands of those who found it necessary to restrain me physically was so impressive, and so much the opposite of what I had experienced in medical institutions, that I turned to Christian Science immediately. A male nurse said that he would read to me. I reached for Christian Science as a drowning man would reach for a life line, and found my healing. I have since been able to demonstrate Truth on a number of occasions. I have been healed of the use of tobacco, which I indulged in heavily, and have also had many minor physical healings.
