Christian Science—An Ever-present Help to the College Student

[Written Especially for Young People]

Freshman days! Days of confusion; of attempting to adjust oneself to one's surroundings; of meeting a sea of new faces; of arranging one's schedule; of taking examinations; of trying to keep happy far from home! These are days of first classes, fraternity rushing, varsity dances, club meetings, football games! How to keep calm amid such confusion is the question. Then the words, "Be still, and know that I am God," are remembered. What quiet assurance, what tranquillity of heart and mind, these words give to the bewildered freshman!

God is always guiding His children. He is divine Love, and is always showing us the way. Man, created in God's image and likeness, coexistent with Him, has no fears.

God is divine Mind. Therefore, we can continually reflect infinite wisdom. When writing a theme we need not fear that ideas will be lacking, for we read in Job, "The inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding." Knowing this, why need we fear or hesitate? Again, when entering a room to take a mid-term examination, we, as Christian Scientists, can remain calm, knowing that "no faculty of Mind is lost," as Mrs. Eddy says in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 407). If we have faithfully prepared our lessons every day, an examination should be seen as merely a natural opportunity to prove what we have learned.
