EDITH COONLEY HOWES

May I in wisdom grow!
Even as a little child
Learns at his father's knee,
So may I hear my Father's voice
And hearing, in His will rejoice
With sweet humility.

May I in stature grow!
Even as a little child
Watches his father's face,
So may I lift my eyes to God,
Find, in the path the Master trod,
The fullness of God's grace.

May I in favor grow!
Even as a little child
Strives for the words "well done,"
May I God's benediction hear,
Prove in my daily tasks how dear
Is His beloved son.
