Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, writes in the Preface to Science and Health (p. vii), "to those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings."

It has been many years since my eyes first fell upon these lines. They held a promise that I could not resist. Having been considered delicate from childhood, I tried, as far as possible, to live a normal life, but my physical strength seemed always more or less limited, and this condition presented quite a trial.

When I was past twenty years of age, a serious surgical operation was undergone, and every hope was given that thereafter I should be strong and well. However, this did not prove to be the case, and after a few months I struggled on much the same as before. At the time the above-mentioned words from Science and Health were read, I was almost a nervous wreck, suffering from insomnia, able to eat only simple foods, and very miserable and discouraged.
