No Lack in Love

The Scriptural revelation of God as Love is a priceless gift to mankind. In his teaching Jesus took nothing from the prophets' concept of God as a mighty Ruler and King, and Father of Israel, but he enriched it by revealing Him as the tender, compassionate Father of all whose children have the inherent right to dwell in harmony and to express and enjoy all good.

Because Jesus understood man's true relationship to God he could say with sublime assurance, "All things that the Father hath are mine." And since he knew God as Spirit, Love, "all things" to him must have meant spiritual ideas and divine qualities, which are possessed and reflected by man as God's likeness.

During his ministry the Master unfolded to his disciples the spiritual law of abundance, but he admonished them to beware of thinking of supply in terms of matter—laying up "treasures upon earth." With yearning tenderness he assured them that security could be realized only by laying up "treasures in heaven," that is, by thinking spiritually, living purely, and loving unselfishly. To impress upon his followers the Father's infinite care for all His creation Jesus said, "Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered." Every least idea is inseparable from and sustained by God, divine Principle.
