I wish to express my gratitude for a recent healing received through Christian Science. I had been sitting in the yard one Saturday evening. The day had been very warm, and I was soon asleep. Upon awakening about nine o'clock I stepped in through the basement entrance and thought that if I lighted the water heater at that time it would save me a trip to the basement later. I was not fully awake and turned on both the burner and the pilot before I struck a match. The explosion that followed thoroughly aroused me, and I felt as if my right hand were on fire. As soon as I recovered my balance I stood still for about a minute declaring the truth; then, relighting the water heater I went upstairs, washed my hand, and had a member of my family tie up the fingers. I called a practitioner and explained what had occurred, and she promised to start working for me at once. After I had hung up the receiver, I took a copy of "Science and health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, turned to the chapter on Christian Science Practice, and read for about an hour. By that time all sense of pain had left my hand. I retired for the night and slept soundly until Sunday morning. On arising I had no pain in my hand, and the fingers were not even stiff.

For this healing and for other healings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science I am truly grateful.
