Truth, the Light that Dispels Darkness

How many times has the earnest Christian Scientist longed to share with worried, sick, wearied humanity the scientific truths which, he has learned, comfort and protect in all situations! How often has he desired to reassure a frightened world of the unnecessity of disaster, epidemics, and war! Again, there are times when, having received a particularly clear thought on a problem confronting his branch church, in which he is actively interested, he yearns to share the inspiration with his fellow members. Yet how prone he may be to feel that his effort to bring enlightenment or comfort to a group is limited, if not futile.

Well may he take courage, however, when he remembers that the angelic messenger who talked with Abraham centuries ago concerning the approaching destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, promised him that the city should be saved if but ten righteous men could be found therein; and, even more, in the promise of the Master, "I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me."

One student found much inspiration in thinking along this line. She saw that Truth, inspires, sustains, and heals the individual Christian Scientist, belongs equally, in every moment, to everyone, since, as Mary Baker Eddy tells us (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 206), "In the scientific relation of God to man, we find that whatever blesses one blesses all."
