In the hope that it may be of help to others, I should like...

In the hope that it may be of help to others, I should like to recount some of the blessings which have come to me through Christian Science. As a small boy, I was brought back from California with a condition diagnosed as hip disease. The best medical treatment available was obtained, and for about seven years I passed through various experiences which left me gradually going from bad to worse. Being in despair, and realizing that materia medica had done its utmost and failed, my parents turned to Christian Science. They knew very little about it at that time, but all hope of healing from other sources had gone. A student of

Christian Science was staying in the town in which we then lived, and she very kindly consented to help me. In less than three weeks from that date I was able to leave a nursing home and go to a preparatory school with other boys of my own age. Crutches and a surgical high boot were discarded almost immediately. Instead of being taken about in a spinal carriage, I was very soon able to ride a bicycle. From that time I have been able to lead a normal life. Later, at a university, I was for three years a member of the Officers' Training Corps.

For the past thirty-six years Christian Science, when faithfully applied, has met my every need. I have called it on many occasions and with many different problems, always receiving help to rise above the particular difficulty. I am very grateful for the teaching received in the Sunday school, for class instruction, and for the privilege of serving as Second Reader in a branch church. I am also grateful to all those whose uplifted thought has helped me to rise from a material to a more spiritual outlook.
