I should like to bear witness to the sustaining power of Christian Science.
Several years ago, when I was a very young girl, I was overwhelmed with sorrow due to the passing on of one who was dearer to me than my own life. I was affected with a sense of futility, which deprived me of much-needed in Christian Science I struggled along for a great while, sustained, however, and encouraged with the hope of healing from this mental anguish; until finally one day I saw that the spiritual qualities which endeared this one to me were of God, therefore, God being ever present, there could be no separation; that not a physical person, but God, divine Love and Truth, was my true Parent. I might state here that this healing could have taken place long before if I had turned wholeheartedly to God, but after beginning my study, due to my ignorance of the subject, I made "reservation" for a "lesser loyalty" (Science and Health, p. 183), thereby delaying the necessary inspiration.
This healing of sorrow has meant more to me than I can state, because it has not only enlightened me in some degree as to the meaning of immortality, but has also shown me that I can rightly continue to love this one; that notwithstanding the inadequacy of so-called material sight to confirm the fact, each idea is with the Father and is the object of divine Love.—(Miss) Lola Ray, Jackson Heights, Long Island. New York.
