Cazenovia Republican
A doctor in her column as published in a recent issue has an interesting article entitled, "Why Call the Doctor?" in which she mentions Christian Science.
Many adhere to the fallacy that Christian Scientists ignore sickness, pain, poverty, evil of all kinds. They have been led to believe that the Christian Scientist is a stoic, opposed by powers he stubbornly refuses to recognize and so blandly marches on to his destruction. Nothing could be farther from the truth than such a supposition. Christian Scientists are intelligent, reasonable people. The Christian Scientist realizes that evil, of whatever name or nature, is the result of ignorance of God and His laws.
This doctor asks what is to be done in the case of sickness. Well, if you are a Christian Scientist, you utilize your understanding of spiritual law, and apply the knowledge you have gained through the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. The pain and sickness, which before seemed so real, disappear, and the individual no longer suffers.
