Employment
[Written Especially for Young People]
THERE are many today who, having graduated from school or having completed a certain course of study, are confronted with discouraging arguments that there are no places of employment for them to fill. Their case may seem quite hopeless to mortal sense, but Christian Science has been presented to the world by Mary Baker Eddy for the purpose of dispelling these dark shadows of fear, and revealing to all of us the real, true facts of being, which include perfect and harmonious employment and fruitful activity.
Any inharmonious or negative suggestion which may come to us. either through radio or newspaper or through the spoken or unspoken word, is merely a suggestion of socalled mortal mind, going "to and fro in the earth." seeking whom it may influence sufficiently to make that one believe the false argument to be true. On page 392 of the Christian Science textbook, ''Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy says: "Stand porter at the door of thought. Admitting only such conclusions as you wish realized in bodily results, you will control yourself harmoniously."
Obviously, the argument that there are no positions for us, even though we are capable of filling them, is a negative argument. Therefore, it is not the truth about God's man. If it is not the truth, it is a lie, which we are not going to believe. God's man is actively reflecting Godlike qualities. There is no cessation or stagnation to this activity.
