Signs of the Times

Topic: The Work of Christ Jesus

[Dr. Leonard A. Parr, as quoted in the Press-Gazette, Green Bay, Wisconsin]

The mildew of the years never rests upon goodness, love, truth, fidelity, honor. They are the same today as when Moses climbed Mount Sinai or the Egyptians built the pyramids. No matter what the age of the world, wherever men see devotion, love, honor, they are looking at the timeless things. Here is a certain woman whom you have read about. ... Here is what she said: "Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; ... thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God."

Why, there you stand in the presence of the dateless, immortal things: findelity, love, friendship, which neither death nor time or change can ever alter or put out of date.
