Right Rewards

On page 4 of her work "Pulpit and Press" Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, in words of deep comfort and encouragement writes: "Wait patiently on illimitable Love, the lord and giver of Life. Reflect this Life, and with it cometh the full power of being."

Could there be any greater reward for wholehearted, steadfast allegiance to the understanding of God's allness and man's perfection as the son of God, than to receive "the full power of being"? And could there be any greater desire for the student of Christian Science than to prove the activity of divine power in his daily life? For this supreme spiritual power, before which discord and difficulty of every kind flee as darkness before the light of day, is the gift of God, universal Love, to each of His children, and represents the outward expression of man's sonship with Him.

What inspiration and courage our beloved Leader brings to us in the above positive assurance of present rewards for steadfast adherence to the demands of Truth! As her words so lovingly point out, it is a question of waiting on, not waiting for, illimitable Love, in order to experience "the full power of being." Divine Love is always ready, is always pouring forth blessings infinite. And the activity of Love, which man naturally expresses, is ever operative, omnipotent, and omnipresent Life.
