So many have been my blessings due to the study of...
So many have been my blessings due to the study of Christian Science that I feel the time has arrived when I should avail myself of the privilege of expressing my gratitude through the pages of the periodicals. About ten years ago I was suffering from a firm belief that I could not go on living, as I had all the symptoms of an incurable disease. The fear was so intense that I was in a state of collapse, and was quite sure that I should never be able to take up my home duties and care for my two small children again. Having attended Christian Science services for some time, I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner. She most lovingly assured me that all would be well, and asked me to read the first four verses of Psalm 40 and hold them in thought. When I felt able to read I studied these verses, and was up and about again in three days.
However, the fear was so persistent that healing seemed afar off and obscure. This condition went on for several years and I prayed to God for light. One day a friend saw my great need and asked me to go to a practitioner whom he knew. This I willingly did, and through her love and clear understanding of the Christ, Truth, I began to see the light and became less fearful and less discouraged. I was determined to wait patiently on God, and a glorious reward was soon made manifest in renewed energy and good health. When I look back on this experience I am filled with gratitude to Christ Jesus, to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and to the practitioners on the case.
Our two boys have attended the Sunday school since they were very young and are still enjoying that privilege. They have experienced healings of sore throat, rheumatism, and internal trouble, and some faults of character have been overcome for all members of our family.
