Listening

"And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."—Isaiah 30:21.

Whene'er I heed the inward voice,
Love lights the way.
Joy sings along the road with me,
And peace goes hand in hand with me
Throughout the day.

One turn—and down dark paths I trudge
Of sin, pain, lack;
No peace, no joy, till I obey
God's mighty Word. This is the way
That guides me back.

The way is Truth! The Word is Life!
Thrice blest are we
Who in this age may prove God near,
When we have willing ears to hear
And eyes to see.
