[Original testimony in French]
In July, 1920, I decided to leave the Protestant church...
In July, 1920, I decided to leave the Protestant church in which I had been brought up. In November of the same year Christian Science was presented to me, and I began its study. At the beginning of this study I had two great desires: to know English well in order to have class instruction, and to have a harmonious home.
After several years of loving help given by practitioners or friends the state of affairs improved. I was able to go to England to learn English. Two years later I came back to France and through the continued study of Christian Science got a better understanding of home. Then I had to learn what true wealth is. Over a period of months my salary decreased; yet I was feeling richer every day. Looking beyond material income, I demonstrated day by day that divine Love is substance. At that time I lived in a very nice home. I was able to go to England for my Association meeting, to Germany for the holidays, and I had more than I needed. Two years ago a very good position was offered to me, and recently my home has been improved still more. I have been led to right companionship. When I began the study of Christian Science I often heard people say at the Wednesday testimony meetings, "All that I am, all that I have, I owe to Christian Science." I wondered then if some day I could say the same. Today I am grateful to Christian Science for having given me everything I have.
I am happy to have learned to love God above all else. During times of darkness and doubt the love of our Master, Christ Jesus, and the courage of our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, have been a great comfort. Words fail to express my gratitude to Christian Science.—(Mrs.)M. Therese Deleplace Schlinquer, Paris, France.
