"Respond to God's ability." These words were spoken to me some years ago, and as I pondered them they brought peace and joy, satisfying an earnest longing as nothing had ever done before.

I was a busy mother with three small children, the baby just four months old; and my husband was often very sick, the result of war wounds. Altogether, my responsibilities seemed far too great. A loving friend invited me to attend a Christian Science service. After the service I came home rejoicing; I had found something that could be proved. My testing time came a month later. I manifested what appeared to be a severe condition of shingles. Help was asked for and lovingly given by a Christian Science practitioner, and in four days the whole difficulty had vanished; I was completely healed. The fact that I was able to do all needful duties for the family during this time was a source of great joy to me and gave me courage and confidence to press on. For the past seven years problems of every description in my human affairs have been met and overcome in Christian Science.

During the first two years of my study of Christian Science, many of those ailments peculiar to children were met and quickly proved powerless with the aid of Christian Science; and for the last seven years my children and I have not used any material remedies. The freedom which the understanding of God, as taught in Christian Science, brings to a mother is beyond price, and I would that I could share it with others.
