In the Bible we read, "The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life." In Science and Health (p. 254) Mrs. Eddy says, "When we wait patiently on God and seek Truth righteously, He directs our path;" and on page 530: "The earth, at God's command, brings forth food for man's use. Knowing this, Jesus once said, 'Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink,'—presuming not on the prerogative of his creator, but recognizing God, the Father and Mother of all, as able to feed and clothe man as He doth the lilies."
For years I feared to eat or drink anything because of the after results from an accumulation of stomach gas. At home I have wakened my family in the middle of the night because I feared I was passing on. In hotels I have called upon bell boys to stay at my bedside until I have gone back to sleep. I was beset with so many ailments that I despaired of seeing my small daughter grow up. At one time I was under medical treatment for low blood pressure, palpitation of the heart, extreme nervousness, and indigestion, and I had reached the point where I felt that I was going insane. Many of my friends thought so too.
It was thus that Christian Science found me. The study and application of the spirit and the letter of Christian Science have healed me of all these ills.
