In your newspaper of March 13, a speaker is reported as disagreeing with the Christian Science view of sin, that is, "that there is no such thing as sin."

Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 472): "All reality is in God and His creation, harmonious and eternal. That which He creates is good, and He makes all that is made. Therefore the only reality of sin, sickness, or death is the awful fact that unrealities seem real to human, erring belief, until God strips off their disguise. They are not true, because they are not of God."

Christian Science teaches the truth about God and His creation, man and the universe, as revealed in the first chapter of Genesis and the words and works of Christ Jesus, upon whose teachings Christianity is founded. In Genesis it is written, "God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." And this agrees with the teachings of Christ Jesus, who declared that the devil, evil, "is a liar, and the father of it." Now, if sin is of the devil, as is generally believed, and the devil "is a liar, and the father of it," as Jesus declared, then sin has no foundation in truth, and is therefore no more real, although it may appear to be real to the human senses, than what appears to be a flat earth or moving sun is real according to natural science, or the science of astronomy.
