Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication

The attitude of the press has been very friendly during the year, and nothing antagonistic to Christian Science has appeared in any of the papers. In one small magazine paper an article was written in which Christian Science was mentioned, and which was misleading. Your Committee wrote to the editor pointing out the error, and a reply was received expressing regret that it had happened, and saying that, as no letters were published in this paper, the correction had been sent to the writer of the article.

The Friend and the People's Weekly of Bloemfontein often quote from The Christian Science Monitor, and excerpts from the weekly Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly appear regularly in the Friend.

A Christian Science lecture was radiocast from Johannesburg. The reception was excellent throughout the Orange Free State. Instantaneous healings were reported as a result of this lecture. The following newspapers published short reports: The People's Weekly, Bloemfontein, in English; Die Volksblad, in Afrikaans; the Kroonstad Times, in English; the Ficksburg News, in English and Afrikaans; the Ladybrand Courant, in Afrikaans; Die Winburger, in Afrikaans; the Heilbron Herald, in Afrikaans; the Basutoland News, Maseru, in English.
