How to Serve

How shall I best serve needs of human kind?How can I show my love to each I meet?Is there no way to ease the daily grind?No way to render bitter into sweet?Can I no means employTo turn grief into joy?

Oh, for the gift to dry the burning tear,To lighten sorrow's heavy load; beguileThe weary-hearted, torn by doubt and fear,And bring, to lips down-curving long, a smile!May not this be my part,To heal the sore of heart?
