In the book of Proverbs the familiar statement is made, "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he;" and the truth of the statement has been borne out by the experience of the years. A course of action has its origin in thinking; the thought leads to dominant desire, and desire is converted into action.

The story is told of one of the champion athletes of the Olympic Games of 1932, that, as a small boy of ten, he watched pole vaulters at a church-school meet. He got the idea that he might do that and do it well. The thought germinated into earnest practice in his own back yard, until nine years later he was acclaimed a champion. ...
